What We Believe What We Believe

Lighthouse Preschool
126 S. Ridgewood Avenue, DeLand, Florida 32720

Our Preschool provides great opportunities for fun and learning for our preschoolers.  We have large, shaded, fully equipped playgrounds, lots of field trips, special programs featuring our preschoolers, and even chapel services where they love to sing together.

Preschoolers enjoy Inflatable Carnival

The whole campus exudes love and care for you and your precious preschoolers.  It is part of the reason our day care centers were voted the "best" in West Volusia County by the writers of the News-Journal.

Conveniently located just five minutes from the hospital or downtown DeLand, it is especially convenient for county employees, school board employees, hospital employees, and all who commute from eastern Lake County.  It is just one block south of Hwy. 44 at the corner of Old New York (the road to Lake Beresford, the Amtrak Train Station, and Hontoon State Park) and S. Ridgewood Ave.  (It's across the street from Pondo's Restaurant).

At Lighthouse Christian Academy Preschool and Day Care, we believe it is of prime importance that each child develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  We seek to promote an atmosphere of positive Biblical truth in order to encourage a child and his/her understanding of God's love, and be in a position where each will recognize there is a need for a personal relationship with God at an early age.

Bible stories are presented every day as part of the A BEKA curriculum that we use.
We realize that there are some different approaches to specific doctrines within the different Christian churches.  It is not our intention to promote these differences in the Christian educational process of our preschool program, but instead to promote unity.  We teach the Bible and leave the finer points of doctrine to the child's parents and pastor.
