The Lighthouse Church is passionate about world missions
The first ten per cent of every ten dollar given to the general fund of The Lighthouse Church goes to support missions. About eight per cent goes to missions in the USA, such as the building of new churches or to support the local pregnancy center. The remaining nine-two per cent goes to support the making of disciples all around the world, especially in the Ten/Forty Window.
(Click here for more information about the ten/forty window)
We support over forty missionaries in many different countries on four continents. We try to focus especially on areas where there are many "Unreached People groups". Nearly all the missionaries we support are native citizens of the country in which they serve. The two main benefits of this approach are (1) they know their people and their need best. (2) They cost much less to support.
A map of the world showing all the missionaries we suppor and the place where they serve is in our House of Prayer
Our biggest single ministry overseas is The Lighthouse Christian Children, home in Salur India . In this beautiful "live in" facility we provide a home and a school for children whose parents are dead or unable to support them. Please see "Children's Home" page with all the details and pictures of the home and children for more information
"Hands On" Missions
We also believe in taking the gospel to the nations ourselves. In 2007 Three separate missions trips were taken by a total of fourteen individual to Three separate nations. Seven, includig moastly laypersons went to China. In november six members of the Pastoral staff went to Nigeria. third trip went to a place where sharing the gospel is illegal, so we cannot identify it.
The result was over 2,000 new decisions for Christ, many lay persons strengthened and encouraged, and hundreds of pastors ministered to and encouraged. We'll have separate web pages with details of the trips to India and China soon.
