What We Believe What We Believe

The Lighthouse Church is passionate about world missions!

The first ten percent of every dollar given to the general fund of The Lighthouse Church goes to support missions. About eight percent goes to missions in the USA, such as the building of new churches or to support the local pregnancy center. The remaining ninety-two percent goes to support the making of disciples all around the world, especially in the Ten/Forty Window.

(Click here for more information about the Ten/Forty Window)

We support over forty missionaries in many different countries on four continents. We try to focus especially on areas where there are many "unreached people groups". Nearly all the missionaries we support are native citizens of the country in which they serve. The two main benefits of this approach are (1) they know their people and their need the best. (2) They cost much less to support.

A map of the world showing all the missionaries we support and the place where they serve is in our House of Prayer.

Our biggest single ministry overseas is The Lighthouse Christian Children's Home in Salur, India. In this beautiful "live in" facility, we provide a home and a school for children whose parents are deceased or unable to support them.  Please see the "Children's Home" page with all the details and pictures of the home and children for more information.

"Hands On" Missions

We also believe in taking the gospel to the nations ourselves. In 2007, three separate missions trips were taken by a total of fourteen individuals to three separate nations.  Seven, including mostly laypersons, went to China. In November, six members of the pastoral staff went to Nigeria. A third trip was to a place where sharing the gospel is illegal, so we cannot identify it. The result was over 2,000 new decisions for Christ, many laypersons strengthened and encouraged, and hundreds of pastors ministered to and encouraged. We'll have separate web pages with details of the trips to India and Africa soon.
